Superhero: The Early Years
I'm sitting at the kitchen table when Caleb dashes past with his superhero cape on. "Dad, is my cape flying behind me?" He disappears down the hall before I can answer.
Thump thump thump thump, here he comes again. "Dad, is my cape flying . . . whoop!" Slip, crash. He disappears from view behind the kitchen counter.
Seconds later he pops back up. "I'm okay!" Thump thump thump thump, down the hall he goes.
Superhero in training.

Lol! But, you're not new at this. You should know that you have to be ready to tell the "Yes! Looking good!" as soon as they start their second approach to the kitchen.

The "I'm okay!" is a sweetly empathetic gesture, reassuring you, suggesting he knows how concerned you are about his "being okay."
Being loved while little. In a flying cape. Sprawled behind the kitchen counter.
It's not just feet that go thump thump thump thump.

There is nothing quite like a superhero in training. Precious.
