48,000 Words

Assuming the one picture per thousand words exchange rate is still in effect. To your left. The Flickr badge. If you're as unskilled as I was in these things, you should know that you have to click on the What is this? wording at the bottom of the icon, and then click on Woodlief. Then you get to see pictures, and put some faces to all these stories. And no, there's none of the wife in a bikini.

Or me either.

In other news, somehow I've reclaimed my rightful place as the #1 Woodlief on Google. You might recall that a real-estate development group was paying thousands of nickel-an-hour workers in Bangladesh to keep its boring little website at the top. But truth will out. At least for now. It wouldn't hurt if you typed "Woodlief" on a few thousand Google searches of your own, as a way of striking back at the Man. Or corporate greed. Or real-estate moguls. Whatever works for you. Just keep me on the throne, will you?

It's good to be the king.

You have beautiful boys. :)

At the beginning of my marriage that was what I wanted, a family of four boys and one girl.

You have had them all and I am happy for you. I am glad one day they will all be reunited.
Thank you so much for the lovely photos. :)

No so much.

But good post nonetheless, and great pictures - thanks for sharing!

Thank you for sharing.

Currently reading a couple of good books.

In the grip of Grace (Max Lucado)
Undaunted Courage (Stephan Ambrose)

You ever think of posting your top ten list?

Your students (us) might benefit from a non-Oprah book list.

Great photos! The boys and your wife are just as delightful as I had pictured, but you were a surprise--I had you pegged as kind of a wimpy-looking Prebyterian type with skinny arms and a prominent Adam's apple. After all, you're a WRITER! But you look good. (I may be approaching 60, but I notice such things.)

Great photos. Wonderful idea of dressing the boys in bright orange for a day at the fair. Makes them easier to keep track of in a crowd, doesn't it?

Wonderful pictures! Your boys, indeed your whole family, are beautiful.

Absolutely fantastic photos. The three older boys all seem to have their own little unique personalities..and they don't really look alike, which for some reason was really surprising to me. So glad you posted them! And had to laugh out loud to Julia's above comment.. ;)

Together those create a fabulous portrait of your life. The boys are incredible, what a hoot your days (and nights/knights) must be... Your lovely wife looks kind and patient... you look particularly studly hoisting that pumpkin(yes, i rather expected you to be pale and nerdy too - it's not so often that a manly man is so articulate and wise)! thank you for allowing us to peek at the gifts in your life...

Posted by: cookieintern at August 20, 2007 9:21 PM

Tony, Thanks for sending the picts! You and the wife haven't changed a bit and I love how you put in the pumpkin pict so we could see you still have the muscles!
The boys are perfect, don't you just love them? Of course you do...I meant having children!

How much did YOU have to pay the Bangladeshi workers in order to reclaim your righful post?

And another thing: does it worry you that you were, for a time, deposed? Are you concerned about a coup?

Give us reason to come back, time and again...something to link to; something to email around. We'll do the dirty work for you, but we're starving out here!

Oh, and great pictures!

Posted by: PJ at August 21, 2007 3:23 AM

You've been deposed, yet again. Bloodless coup, and all that. If it's any comfort, you're the number one 'sand in the gears'.

I've been the number one 'fatherhood blog' for quite some time. But no one ever searches for 'fatherhood blog'. So there you go.

Beautiful, beautiful boys!
