No, Still No Baby

Several people have asked, and the news is still that there's no news. At this point we're thinking of womb-schooling.

As we just had a baby 6 weeks ago that we had to post an eviction notice to and be induced, I feel your wifes pain! Good luck, may God give her an easy labor and soon!

Have you considered chants of "push 'em out...shove 'em out...way out!"?

And no, my bride didn't appreciate that either.

"Inducement" saved us a lot of trouble 23 years ago. We were living in Vienna. We had to depart our apartment by June 30 (landlord was selling it), but our next lease didn't open until August 1. Baby No. 2 was due July 1. Parishioners on vacation or furlough in July made their homes available to us, the first stint for three weeks, followed by a one-week stay before moving into our next home. The timing of the birth at the beginning of the three week stay was providential.

But, Baby No. 2 didn't come on the 1st. Or the 2nd. On the 3rd, I asked the doctor about it, and he explained it might be a couple of weeks or more.

"Any reason the baby couldn't be born now?"

"No, its full term."

I then explained our housing problem, the need for the baby to come soon, and the significance of July 4. He enthusiastically agreed to induce the next morning, on which Geneva, our own little fire-cracker, was born.
