Blundell's Law
In lieu of anything enlightening from me today, you should check out John Blundell's essay here. A teaser:
"I will have to refine my insight into an algebraic formula before I can expect my Nobel prize. I’m pretty near the mark when I describe Blundell’s Law as 'all new regulations achieve the opposite of their intended effect'."

Hmm..competition in regulations. Interesting. From a purely practical standpoint, is there even such a thing as a market for regulations? Who is the purchaser, then? (I'm assuming the gov't and related bodies are the main suppliers).
This reminds me of the (ongoing and everpresent, it seems) Sarbanes-Oxley discussion at:

I hope it's not a faux pas to cite a (competing?) blog URL..?
