An Apology

I've been exceedingly busy. No need to go into details, except to say that I started a new job. Lots of work to do. Lots more fun than my old job, but much more work.

On another front, I discovered that it's best not to have your friends and family discover by reading your website that you are about to have a child. My apologies, friends and family. Of course, if I had waited to tell you until I actually made time to pick up the phone, the little guy would be potty trained before you knew of his existence. Nevertheless, I beg your forgiveness. I'm a large tax, but remember: the other members of my household are sweet and cute, and thus more than offset my lack of social graces.

When baby #2 was born we sent of e-mail announcements of the event and heard back from several acquaintances that that was the first they'd heard that another child was in the works.

Congrats, and glad to see you are back. It always causes wondering when someone disappears for a bit. We always assume it is just real life, but there is always that possibility of something more serious.

When we were expecting our second child, we were living thousands of miles away from all family. They all mean well, but the interest in any new member of the family is overwhelming. We decided to just put it off until the perfect moment. Of course, there is no perfect moment. So, my parents were coming to visit and I had to call and tell them we were pregnant before they discovered it at the airport when I went to pick them up. My mother eventually asked "when are we due?" and I had to say "in about seven weeks". Things went downhill from there :)
